I am not a “professional” woodworker and PTville is not a business therefore I do not make a living from my woodworking. As it turns out, I have amassed a large quantity of turned and scroll sawed items that I have to do something with. Furthermore, SWMBO has advised me that the shop will need to support itself rather then taking money out of our budget to keep it going. Therefore, I offer my scroll sawed items and lathe turned wooden items for sale. In both cases, you will notice that the wooden items show strong grain patterns, knots, and color variations of the wood. I attempted to maintain the natural appearance of the wood and retain the character of the grain and “imperfections”. That even includes the cracks, worm holes and the spalting (a color change caused by certain bacteria). VERY seldom do I use any kind of stain on a piece of wood and, if I do, it is only to enhance the grain of the wood. I DO NOT use laser cutting for the scroll sawed items or other mass production methods like you will find in so many other “hand made” wood items available at most craft shops. Each piece is hand made here in my garage studio and I do not “farm out” work or use mass produced parts. The price of each item is based on the wood and the difficulty in making the item.
I am using E-Bay as a place to sell items so some of the items that I offer below are on E-Bay. I will try to keep the list up to date so that you will know if an item is on E-Bay or not. If you are interested in bidding on the item, then go to E-Bay and check it out there. My E-Bay sellers name is “ptville” so you should be able to find me that way.
Payment Instructions
I will also show items that have been sold and how much they were sold for. Some of my items are rather inexpensive and some are a little more expensive and so on. I’m trying to be realistic with the pricing but if the item looks high priced, then that might be due to the cost of the materials.
Paypal is accepted for payment and credit card payments can be made through Paypal. Use my e-mail address for Paypal payments (pt at ptville dot com). Also cashier’s check or money order is accepted. Due to previous problems with checks, I cannot accept personal checks, sorry.
Shipping Information
I’m sorry, but no foreign orders and no orders outside the “lower 48”. I will ship your item as soon after payment is received as possible. If you are purchasing multiple items I will ship them together to reduce costs. E-mail me and we will work out the costs. I go to the Post Office on Tuesdays and Thursdays therefore, items that have been paid for before that day will be shipped on my next Post Office visit. I ship most items by USPS. If I have to use UPS then I must go into town which is quite a trip.
All items plus packaging that is less then 13 oz. will be mailed by first class mail which should take 1 to 3 days. All other items can be mailed at the parcel post rate which will take 2 to 9 days. If you choose I can mail your item Priority mail which will cost $8.50 and take 1 to 3 days.
Insurance is optional, but items sent uninsured are shipped at buyer's own risk, whether lost or damaged in shipment. I cannot be held responsible for items damaged during shipping therefore, I recommend buying insurance. I try my best to package your item so that it will be protected during shipping and arrive intact.
Refunds
In the event that the item you have ordered is not what you thought it was or is not what you wanted, then I will refund your money and shipping costs both ways. I do ask that you contact me immediately and return the item within 14 days in the original box with shipping material.
